Review: Mudy drops “Havoc”
Four days into the New Year and we’ve been blessed. Artist Mudy has finally dropped her long-awaited single Havoc. Mudy has been seen around the city performing at different venues, where her fans constantly told, not asked, her to drop “Havoc.” And with the release of her latest freestyle on Cypher by Tyree Pope, she had the city begging for Havoc, and now it’s finally here.
Havoc dropped at midnight on all streaming platforms—the video has yet to be released. The song begins with her asking, “What they really want from me,” because the city’s always asking, “Where’s Mudy,” and “When is Mudy dropping?” And with the questions come hate. Some say Mudy is only a cold female rapper, but like she stated in her freestyle: “Niggas say I’m cold to be a dame, so I asked him to repeat/Niggas sleeping on me, I demand them on their feet.”
Mudy knew what she was doing when she named the track Havoc because she just ruined a lot of artists’ day. Although she states Havoc isn’t a diss song, Mudy came to kill. The city’s been waiting for Havoc, so she had to come with the heat: “I’m the next to blow/ It’s the talk of the town,” she raps ferociously on Havoc.
She threw small, but powerful shots throughout the track. One being that she doesn’t play about her money and how she’s been on. Mudy has been rapping for a few years, but she’s been holding back on her skills, mainly showing them in live performances, but with Havoc, she’s undeniably marking her stamp in the music scene.
“Real talk Ima pray for you niggas/ I’m coming up and I know that you sick,” she said to the haters who see the growth in her and can’t stop it. She continues to speak directly to them, “I will not fall and I promise to ball on y’all motherfuckin’ heads, so I’m making a list.”
Mudy spilled all her feelings—or non-feelings—for anyone she wasn’t feeling at the time of the song. Loyalty is high on her list, and she made it clear that she doesn’t like having her time wasted, so act accordingly.
I guess you can say Mudy gave the people what they wanted and put the naysayers in their place.
Havoc can be found on all streaming platforms.
