Don Bond, owner of iDeal Realty, has had a fair share of entrepreneurship since childhood.

Bonds began his business endeavors selling candy in elementary school and by the age of fourteen, he had established a lawn mowing company named, “Kiss My Grass” that had a couple of employees. After that business, Bond started trading cars, which led him to start a trucking business.

iDeal Realty is Bond’s latest business venture, which is a full-service real estate firm. Bond is a real estate broker and agent and relates the industry to Monopoly, because one of the main goals is to own as many properties at once, as possible.

“I really want to be a real estate investor… I like the idea of playing real life Monopoly,” said Bond.

Bond's first knowledge of ownership came from his parents. His father owned a construction company and worked on houses, while his mother worked for herself in various businesses. Both of his parents owned properties and he wanted to follow in their footsteps.

“You can really only do what you know and that’s all I ever knew. I never knew how to go clock in anywhere,” said Bond. “I was taught that later on, but it never worked out.”

Bond wants everyone to know, especially those interested in real estate, that he didn’t do anything extravagant besides take a couple tests, apply himself and stay motivated. Bond understands jumping into the entrepreneurship lifestyle is scary, which is why he created the “Rich Milwaukee” literary club.

Through Rich Milwaukee, Bond will share his experience on how he became successful.

“If you[‘re] go[ing to] run a business, you got to do it right. You got to be profitable,” Bond said.  “You got to respect your business and treat it like a business.”

The literary club will host monthly meetings that may be moved to online due to COVID-19, and topics range from careers in real estate to credit repair.

“The Richest Man in Babylon” book is used as a learning tool for his club. Each class cost $30, except for the first and last class.

The first class was held online on April 23, 2020 and the next class will take place on May 21, 2020.

“It’s a million-dollar value and if you give away stuff for free, people won’t value it or take it seriously. $30 filters out the serious people,” Bond said. “I plan to stimulate new businesses, new millionaires, realtors, brokers, property owners and all types of things in real estate.”

Bond has been a realtor for two years in the Oakland area, four years in Milwaukee and just recently became a real estate broker in Wisconsin.

Throughout his literacy club, Bond hopes to provide vital information and find the diamonds in the rough that he can bring onto his team.

“I’ll hold your hand, walk you through every step of the way, make you successful, and teach you all the game that I know,” said Bond.
