5 Tips to Increase Your Chances of Winning $3,000 CNS Scholarship

Carvd N Stone (CNS) invited three past CNS Scholarship recipients to talk about their experience applying for our scholarship and how it’s impacted them. The 20-min panel was held on Facebook Live on September 18, 2022. Hannah Wilson, Tyree Pope III and Michael Snowden participated in the panel and shared tips on how current applicants can increase their chances of winning.

Based on the panel and from past experiences, the CNS Team put together a short list of tips on how you can win a CNS Scholarship in 2022.

Tip #1: Make sure you fit the criteria before applying. You will automatically be disqualified if you do not fit within the criteria.

Tip #2: Take your time, read, and answer each question. Any missed question will affect your chances of being selected. If we ask for three samples then you must submit three samples.

Tip #3: Show us who you really are and what you do. If you are a musician, then you should submit samples of your music, and your reason of applying should match what you do. Please avoid saying you’re a musician and then submitting an essay that states the funding will be used to buy new shoes; everything should be aligned. If you’re a student, please make sure to follow all guidelines when submitting the essay.
