Fetch, an Atlanta-based self-service rental truck company that launched in 2017, has recently raised $3.5 million led by NextView Ventures. With the capital, co-founders Adam Steinberg and Chris Glace will expand their team and bring Fetch to more cities around the country.
Fetch’s technology allows customers to rent a truck for an hour to days to months all from their smartphone. Each truck is equipped with Fetch technology in order to make this contactless service run. Some of the funds will be used to improve their technology to be as user-friendly as possible.
“Fetch is providing the best customer experience when it comes to renting a truck,” said Steinberg. “And doing that through technology.”
The company started in Atlanta but now has a presence in Baltimore, Philadelphia, Dallas, and Washington, D.C. with plans to be in at least 12 more cities by the end of the year. This means Fetch is also expanding its marketing team.

Steinberg said Atlanta has been the best place to start a business. Just 60 days after the pandemic started, Fetch experienced a spike in demand, so much that it became overwhelming.
“We have an entirely contactless experience [and] contactless become the standard. That was really a silver lining for us,” said Steinberg.
The process of renting a Fetch truck takes about 10-15 minutes the first time someone uses the service, he said. After that, it goes down to 30 seconds. All customers must have a valid driver's license and proof of insurance to be approved for a Fetch truck.
Vehicle prices range from $49 a day for 50 miles to $139 a day for unlimited miles. All vehicles are tracked and users are automatically charged for overages.
Fetch currently has 15 employees and is looking to have a staff of 35. The plan is to hire locally but those looking to move to the Atlanta area are encouraged to apply.
