Steve Harvey Keynote Session at Invest Fest 2022 Inspired 12,000 People
Icon Steve Harvey partnered with media company Earn Your Leisure (EYL) for Invest Fest 2022. The three-day event is being held in Atlanta at the Georgia World Congress Center. Entrepreneurs, business owners, and those looking to better their finances, flew in from all over the country to participate in the festival.
Through Harvey and EYL’s collaboration, the fest’s attendance went from 4,500 guests to 12,000 in just one year.
Harvey helped EYL Co-Founders Rashad Bilal and Troy Millings connect with organizations like Chick-fil-A, while also investing in the fest himself.
To give the people a show, Harvey was Saturday’s keynote speaker where he discussed using one’s talents to reach success, building relationships overseas, and focusing on one’s self.
“We’ll pay a lot of money for entertainment. We’ll pay top dollar to see our favorite artists, but when it comes to investing in ourselves, back in the day it didn’t just happen. This is an amazing thing to see,” Harvey said about the participants at the fest.
One of the biggest things on everyone’s mind in the room was how to reach success. For Harvey, he said it’s less about the how and more about putting in the work.
According to Harvey, he started off making $25 a show, which eventually turned in to thousands to millions of dollars a day. He said it’s not about changing the formula but replicating it and staying consistent.
“It takes time a long time to make a lot of money,” he said.
He added that too many individuals are focused on how to make a million dollars that they don’t even try. He said success begins when you start.
“The key to success is planting,” said Harvey. “The how isn’t up to you, it’s up to God.”
Harvey spoke on the importance of ownership. According to Harvey, his TV show Judge Steve Harvey is the first show he’s had ownership in. He also owns the international rights to Family Feud.
The last portion of the session focused on Harvey’s international relationships, specifically in Africa. Harvey is proving that Africa has the resources to become the next “Hollywood” scene for movies and TV shows.
According to Harvey, Family Feud is the number one show in South Africa.
“They are hard workers. They got it. It’s just nobody believed in them,” said Harvey.
Harvey also shared his future plans to turn the ranch he bought into a 350-dormitory for girls and boys. The development will include a STEAM center, Esports complex, 700-seat theatre for presentations, a dining hall facility, and more.
He doesn’t have all the funds right now for the development, but he’s not worried.
“What God has for you is yours,” he said.
