The Sistah Shop Opens Second Location at Atlantic Station

The Sistah Shop is a Black and woman-owned lifestyle mega-retailer ran by Aisha Taylor Issah that only features women of color brands. The first location was opened in New Jersery inside The Mills at Jersey Garden in 2021. Not even a year later, and Issah opened her second location in Atlanta at the Atlantic Station on June 17, 2022 during Juneteenth weekend.

The grand opening brought a crowd of people with a line wrapping around the building.
“It’s a blessing,” said Issah. “We’re honored to to create more space for women entrepreneurs.”
The Sistah Shop is an initiative by The Sistahs in Business Expo, a multi-city small business community created to celebrate and educate entrepreneurial women of color. The brand also offers business courses, pitch competitions, and has a foundation.
The 4,040-square-foot shop will feature products from over 75 local and national Black woman-owned businesses, with items including clothing, accessories, skincare, home goods, art, and curated collectibles.
Jania Mckenzie has been vending at Issah’s events since 2019. She vended at her first SIstah Shop event in Philadelphia and immediately decided to vend the rest of the tour.

Mckenzie owns Fashioned In Favor, an apparel brand focused on creating a community around people figuring out their relationships with God.
After so much success at the New Jersey location, it was no question for Mckenzie to vend at the grand opening in Atlanta.
“There are so many women entrepreneurs that depend on what she does,” said McKenzie.
Issah has a goal to make The Sistah Shop the Amazon for Black and women-owned brands.
“Black women entrepreneurs need to be supported,” said Issah.
